Microwave Caramel Corn


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 quarts popped corn(unsalted )


  1. Comne all ingredients except soda and popcorn in large bowl
  2. Bring to a boil in microwave
  3. Cook at full power for 2 minutes
  4. Remove from microwave and stir in soda
  5. Put popped corn in large brown grocery bag
  6. pour syrup over corn
  7. Close bag and shake
  8. cook in bag on high for 1 1/2 minutes
  9. shake and cook another 1 1/2 minutes
  10. pour into pan and allow to cool
